VOLUNTEER!

Responsibility for the maintenance of the run falls largely on us—the run’s users. We are currently rolling out measures to organize and focus those upkeep efforts. We will prominently post tasks and “to-dos” as the needs arise. Click here for more!

SUMMER!

Fundraising Update

Last year we launched a three-phase, $50,000 capital campaign for the run’s most desperately needed improvements. We raised enough in 2012 to complete two of the three phases! An entirely new water system was installed—a great improvement over what had been there before. It provides water for the dogs to drink, and to cool off with during those hot summer days! And then, in Phase II, we had the run resurfaced! Today we continue to raise money for the third phase of the campaign: installing a new entrance gate into the small dog run directly from the park side, a project requiring $15,000 to complete.

Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities

In addition to those major projects, there is, of course, regular upkeep of the run, the vast majority of which must be done by us—the run’s users. We are currently rolling out measures to organize and focus those upkeep efforts. We will prominently post tasks and “to-dos” as the needs arise. Also, member Barbara Morgan has organized a series of weekend volunteer projects throughout the month of June.

Speaking of which, on “It’s My Park Day”—May 18—the front entrance was painted by a gung-ho corps of volunteers. It is a great improvement, and Barbara’s plans are going to build on that accomplishment.

If you have questions or would like to become more involved, please let us know by emailing us at info@dogrun105.org.

Have a great summer, and please volunteer!
